Established in 1976, Pines International was the original greens ingredient supplier for the natural products marketplace. Our upgraded modern facilities built in 2010 are used exclusively for certified organic, Non-GMO Project Verified wheatgrass, barley grass, oat grass, rye grass and alfalfa. Our alfalfa is the only Non-GMO Project Verified whole food alfalfa leaf in the natural products marketplace.
Stainless Steel. Our state-of-the-art, computer-controlled dehydrators are unique in having all stainless steel components and using temperatures at half that used by the other producers.
Protection of the Ogallala Aquifer. After a century of exploitation, the Ogallala used by the other Kansas and Colorado producers has become depleted and contaminated with pesticides. We are the only supplier whose facilities are located in areas that receive plenty of natural rainfall. None of our fields require any irrigation.
100% Organic Family Farmers. Unlike other suppliers that are primarily chemical agribusinesses, our farm families are philosophically committed to being 100% organic. Organic farming is not a sideline for them but rather a way of life!
No Flag Grass. Pines uses some of the same fields and a laboratory used starting in 1935 by Charles Schnabel, the scientist responsible for the medical and scientific research on cereal grass. That research showed cereal grass reaches its peak nutrition at the jointing stage. At that stage, yields are less than 200 kilograms per acre. That’s when we harvest. Others harvest at the flag grass stage. Yields of flag grass can be as much a 1,000 kilograms per acre, but color and nutritional value do not measure up to the quality of PINES cereal grass harvested at the jointing stage.
Quality. Our standards do not result in higher prices. We will be pleased to meet your deadlines and specifications at competitive prices.
