Calcium oxide (CaO), a.k.a. burnt lime, quicklime, pebble lime, and calcia, is an odorless gray or white-gray chemical compound primarily used in manufacturing applications. Calcium oxide is typically produced via thermal decomposition of limestone or other materials containing calcium carbonate. While China is the world’s leading calcium oxide producer, the United States is also a major player in the calcium oxide marketplace.
