MATCHA TEA PRODUCTS

MATCHA TEA PRODUCTS: Matcha is categorized into three grades: ceremonial grade, culinary (or ingredient) grade, and industrial grade. The difference between the different grades of matcha comes down to quality and flavor.

QUALITY & FLAVOR

Matcha quality and flavor are determined by the time of harvest along with cultivation and manufacturing methods. Higher grades of matcha tend to have smoother flavor, stronger vegetal aroma, and a more vibrant green color. Lower grades tend to have higher levels of astringency, earthy aroma, and more yellowish or brownish tones.

CEREMONIAL GRADE

  • DEEP EMERALD GREEN, SMOOTH FLAVOR, HIGH IN AMINO ACIDS

Used for traditional ceremonial consumption, mixed only with pure water. This premium Japanese matcha powder is ideal for private label packaging, single-serve stick packs, or high-end food service.

CULINARY GRADE

  • BRIGHT GREEN, SLIGHT ASTRINGENCY, HIGH IN VERSATILITY

This powder is great for products that will feature matcha as a flavor for an existing product. It provides beautiful color with great nutritional benefits. Use it for cooking, baking, bottled and blended drinks, and anything containing sugar, cream, and other ingredients.

INDUSTRIAL GRADE

  • YELLOW-ISH TONE, STRONG ASTRINGENCY, HIGH IN ANTIOXIDANTS

Ideal for products that utilize many ingredients or ingredients with strong flavors, industrial grade Japanese matcha is good for use in supplements, health products like vitamins and beauty products like facial masks, cleansers, and toners.
