Carob (Ceratonia siliqua) is the fruit of the carob tree. It is dark brown pods. It grows long, slightly curved, thick, anywhere from 4-10 inches in length.

For thousands of years, carob have been used extensively by civilizations located in the Mediterranean region as well as those along the Adriatic Sea.  

Because it is loaded with a number of vitamins and minerals, It is often used as a natural sweetener in baked goods and a substitute for chocolate or cocoa powder.
