Vitamin E
Vitamin E is the collective name for a group of fat-soluble compounds with strong antioxidant properties. In nature, Vitamin E is found in whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetable oils and green leafy vegetables. Alpha-tocopherol is the primary form of Vitamin E compound absorbed in the body as anutrient, whether the primary source is from foods or dietary supplements. As a powerful antioxidant, researchers have found links that Vitamin E supports immune health, cardiovascular health, eye health and cancer prevention. With the recognition of these health benefits, Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for Vitamin E have been set by the Food and Nutrition Board at the National Academies.
